  • Relaxed Performance of 'The Play that goes Wrong' on Sunday 19th May in London's West End

    Published 08/05/24, by Louise Evans

Mischief, creators of hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong which celebrates 10 years in the West End’s Duchess Theatre this year are offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the longest-running comedy in London's West End next weekend.

On Sunday 19th May at 3pm, they are holding a relaxed performance of the show, tailored to people who would benefit from a more welcoming, relaxed and non-judgemental environment. Adjustments will be made including sound volume levels reduced, minimising moments of darkness in the auditorium, chill-out spaces available and a pre-performance touch tour to introduce audiences to the sounds and characters of the show.

You can find more about the relaxed performance here, including downloading a Visual Story to familiarise with the theatre and the show. All tickets for the performance are £22, and the creators hope this very special performance creates the opportunity for families and friends to laugh together and enjoy the perfect slice of escapism with additional support from the theatre team and volunteers.

    ABOUT THE SHOW

The Play That Goes Wrong is the longest running comedy in the West End, now in its disastrous 10th year at the Duchess Theatre.

You all know the classic whodunnit story, there has been a murder at a country manor and an inspector is set on the case to find who the culprit is. However, when this plot is given to the accident-prone thespians at The Cornley Drama Society, everything that can go wrong… does!

The actors and crew battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!

Do you ever find out who murdered Charles Haversham? You’ll have to see for yourself!

    RELAXED PERFORMANCE
At this performance of The Play That Goes Wrong, the following adjustments will be made:

    • Auditorium lights will remain partially on throughout the performance.
    • Sound volume will be slightly reduced.
    • Audience members are encouraged to move around if needed and are welcome to leave and re-enter the performance.
    • A chill-out space will be available.
    • A pre-show touch tour will be available to attend, introducing the sounds and characters of the show.
    • There will be reduced audience interaction and participation.
