On Friday 12th July, Agentis Financial & Mortgage Solutions Ltd held their second annual Golf Day in aid of Little Miracles and raised an absolutely incredible £4,343.64!

The rain held-off and 74 golfers enjoyed a brilliant day's golf, putting competitions and other brilliant fundraising initiatives, followed by a well-earned meal and drinks at a local pub.

David Mortell, Managing Director at Agentis Financial & Mortgage Solutions Ltd and organiser of the event, said -

"For two years running we’ve been able to help support local families with the money raised by the charity golf days. We chose Little Miracles as we believe the money will directly benefit families and help have a real positive impact at such a difficult time"

Over the summer holidays our centre in Peterborough is expected to welcome more than 1,700 people, all of whom are families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

Many of our families struggle financially, physically and emotionally to access activities in the community over this period, but with the help of incredible organisations like Agentis we are able to put-on a full programme of inclusive actives where families can make memories and get the support they need.

Luke Steele, Manager of Peterborough Sports FC, who played as art of a team from the club, said -

"Thank you so much for a brilliant, brilliant golf day. A fantastic day for a fantastic charity. We will definitely be taking part again next year"

Enormous thanks to David Mortell from Agentis, and to Christine and the team for their help on the day. We simply couldn't be the charity we are without this kind of amazing local support.

    See you next year!

Huge congratulations to this year's winners Matt Hill, Jake Barnes, Bevis Swales and David Phillmore

In the heart of our community lies a partnership that has been making a profound difference to countless families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

Delicious Ideas Food Group, a dedicated family-owned food and drink wholesaler, has been a supporter of Little Miracles Charity for several years. Their regular donations of surplus stock have meant we can continue to provide essentials for families who might be struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. May half-term saw Little Miracles welcome more than 400 people, the majority of whom enjoyed food provided by Delicious Ideas.

The contributions from Delicious Ideas Food Group have allowed us to keep our food bank well-stocked, ensuring that we can meet the needs of families who rely on us. Each donation brings a sense of relief, knowing that we will continue to support those who might otherwise go hungry.

Little Miracles also provides food parcels which help our families stretch their budgets, reduce their stress, and provide healthy meals for their children. The feedback from parents and children are testament to the difference these donations make.

One family recently said "I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone at Little Miracles that helped me and my family out with food parcels. It was a massive help to us. The food was great, nothing has gone to waste here".

The support from Delicious Ideas Food Group has been a beacon of hope for many families in our community. Their generosity has made a tangible difference, and we are extremely thankful for their ongoing partnership.

  • Michelle talks to BBC Radio Cambs about priorities we would like the next government to tackle

    Published 26/06/24, by Louise Evans

In the run-up to the election our CEO, Michelle King, spoke to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on Monday about the concerns we have at Little Miracles Charity for the future health and well-being of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions in the UK.

It is believed that 24% of the UK population have a disability (UK disability statistics: Prevalence and life experiences). The challenges that face nearly quarter of our population affect almost every area of life and often it is down to smaller charities like Little Miracles to fill in the gaps left by the government. We pick-up the pieces but receive almost no support or funding.

  • AB Mauri volunteers transform Little Miracles' garden

    Published 21/06/24, by Lauren Smith

We are thrilled to share the incredible transformation that took place at our Peterborough centre, thanks to the wonderful team from AB Mauri. Over two dedicated company volunteering days, AB Mauri's staff rolled-up their sleeves and got to work on a variety of gardening tasks including cutting the grass, chopping down the overgrowth and weeding.

The difference their efforts have made is truly remarkable. The pictures speak volumes about the amazing work they accomplished. Our once-overgrown garden now looks pristine and inviting, providing a much safer and more pleasant environment for everyone who visits our centre.

Not only did AB Mauri spend two days at our centre, they also brought donated brand new gardening equipment, face masks and made a huge donation of £1150!

Volunteer days like these are invaluable to us at Little Miracles. The support from companies like AB Mauri means that we can continue to provide a welcoming and supportive space for families in need.

To find out more about how you and your company can volunteer at Little Miracles please email volunteering@littlemiraclescharity.org.uk.

This wonderful canvas was created at our Peterborough Youth Club last night by a young person who has had a really tough time over the last few weeks. At Little Miracles we give every opportunity we can for children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions to express how they are feeling and access the support and counselling they need.

But we also help their families because holistic support means that family members are in a stringer place to be there for each other. And as the saying goes, you cannot our from an empty cup.

  • Relaxed Performance of 'The Play that goes Wrong' on Sunday 19th May in London's West End

    Published 08/05/24, by Louise Evans

Mischief, creators of hit comedy The Play That Goes Wrong which celebrates 10 years in the West End’s Duchess Theatre this year are offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the longest-running comedy in London's West End next weekend.

On Sunday 19th May at 3pm, they are holding a relaxed performance of the show, tailored to people who would benefit from a more welcoming, relaxed and non-judgemental environment. Adjustments will be made including sound volume levels reduced, minimising moments of darkness in the auditorium, chill-out spaces available and a pre-performance touch tour to introduce audiences to the sounds and characters of the show.

You can find more about the relaxed performance here, including downloading a Visual Story to familiarise with the theatre and the show. All tickets for the performance are £22, and the creators hope this very special performance creates the opportunity for families and friends to laugh together and enjoy the perfect slice of escapism with additional support from the theatre team and volunteers.

    ABOUT THE SHOW

The Play That Goes Wrong is the longest running comedy in the West End, now in its disastrous 10th year at the Duchess Theatre.

You all know the classic whodunnit story, there has been a murder at a country manor and an inspector is set on the case to find who the culprit is. However, when this plot is given to the accident-prone thespians at The Cornley Drama Society, everything that can go wrong… does!

The actors and crew battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!

Do you ever find out who murdered Charles Haversham? You’ll have to see for yourself!

    RELAXED PERFORMANCE
At this performance of The Play That Goes Wrong, the following adjustments will be made:

    • Auditorium lights will remain partially on throughout the performance.
    • Sound volume will be slightly reduced.
    • Audience members are encouraged to move around if needed and are welcome to leave and re-enter the performance.
    • A chill-out space will be available.
    • A pre-show touch tour will be available to attend, introducing the sounds and characters of the show.
    • There will be reduced audience interaction and participation.
