Childcare Volunteer

We have opportunities for you to support our team within the centre to support the day-to-day duties of the childcare practitioners. See how an effective organisation cares for children and support the team in our mission to provide high quality care.
If you have a childcare qualification, we will need to see evidence of this in the form of a certificate. If you do not have a qualification, we can support you to discover what qualifications are on offer locally to further your skills and employability.
Within our Head Office you will support the childcare team in the following duties:
- Assist with Activities – Support the practitioners by setting up and clearing away activities these will be a wide range of play and learning activities both inside the centre and outside in the garden. Activities may include arts and crafts, reading, messy play, building and other games/experiences.
- Engage with children – Interact with the children during playtime, encourage participation ensuring they are safe and happy.
- General Support – Help with the daily routines of the setting, including preparing snacks, tidying up and cleaning areas after.
- Care of the children – Under supervision of a qualified practitioner you will assist with hand washing or help with children getting on coats/shoes or support children to assist with tidying away toys/resources after an activity.
- Uphold the Centre’s policies and procedures – always follow policies and procedures, particularly focusing on Safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality.

- No experience required, while we love qualified volunteers, everyone is welcome, and qualifications are not essential. All we ask is that you are willing to learn and participate.

- Two references
- One Professional Reference - Previous employer or volunteer organisation you have worked/volunteered with.
- One Personal Reference - A friend or someone who has known you personally for 2+ years but is not related to you either by blood or marriage.
- An enhanced DBS Check to be completed by Little Miracles.
- Completion of 8 Mandatory Training Courses on our external training platform in line with our Safeguarding policy and procedures.
- Attendance on an induction session.
