Volunteer Spotlight: From Student Placement to Art Therapist

As part of Volunteers' Week, we're shining a spotlight on the people whose journeys with Little Miracles have grown into meaningful careers supporting families across our communities.
Anna first joined Little Miracles as a student placement while completing her degree in Art Therapy. She needed placement hours to support her studies and chose to gain that experience with us.
Over time, Anna became an important part of the team, working closely with our Counselling Manager, Amanda Westmore, and Head of Family Support Services, Nikita Lack.
Through her placement, she gained hands-on experience supporting families and helping with counselling pre-assessments, while also working directly with Art Therapy clients.
As her placement progressed, Anna's knowledge, compassion and commitment to supporting families became clear. Following the completion of her studies, she continued her journey with Little Miracles and is now employed as our Art Therapist.
Today, Anna continues to provide therapeutic support to families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
Her journey demonstrates the value of student placements in developing practical experience, professional confidence and meaningful career opportunities.
We're delighted that Anna chose to continue working with us and grateful for the difference she makes to our families every day.
