Over the past couple of years, running has become a big part of Damien’s life. He has already taken on the Manchester Marathon, Jurassic Coast 100K and Peak District 100K, with each challenge pushing him further physically and mentally.

But this time, he added another 40 miles to his previous longest distance. 100 miles, and he did it for Little Miracles.

For Damien, running has become about more than distance. Each challenge has given him the chance to raise money and awareness for a cause that means a lot to him, while pushing himself to see what he could achieve.

Before the race, Damien shared what running for Little Miracles meant to him: “For me, Running for Little Miracles represents hope, strength and the belief that even the smallest steps can make a huge difference.”

He knew the 100-mile challenge would be tough. There would be tired legs, difficult moments and plenty of time to question why he'd signed himself up for it in the first place!

But whenever those moments came, Damien had a reason to keep going. “Because this isn’t just about how far I can run. It’s about running for something bigger than myself.”

His challenge was also part of a wider fundraising journey. Damien and his partner Lisa have been taking on running challenges to raise money for Little Miracles, with their JustGiving page raising funds to help us continue supporting children, young people and their families.

For Damien, every mile had a purpose.

The 100-mile ultramarathon was a huge personal challenge, but it also gave him the opportunity to help shine a light on the families of children and young people who rely on Little Miracles for support.

We’re incredibly grateful to Damien and Lisa for choosing to take on such a huge challenge for us and for putting so much time, energy and determination into raising money for our families.
