Crown Packaging donate $25,000 USD!

Crown Packaging in Peterborough applied to their worldwide charitable giving programme and won an extraordinary $25,000 USD for Little Miracles!
After winning the donation, Jo Williams and Chris Burdass from the Peterborough site came to the Spinney to learn more about what we do for our families. They had a tour of the centre and were really interested in how we support families of children who have additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
Jo and Chris met some of the children who were with our childcare team on alternative school provision and respite, and then toured the space and learnt about the impact that we have on our families.
After speaking with the team and our CEO, Michelle King, Jo and Chris decided that their huge donation would go towards our Family Support team who have a wealth of experience in helping families find their way through the complex and changing world of disability. Amongst other areas, the team help with financial entitlements, school meetings, DLAs and PIP applications, and therapy and counselling... they exist to ensure that nobody has to go through what can be a very difficult and lonely journey alone.

“When we first built our factory in Peterborough, we asked our team to nominate a local charity who we could provide support to. The team suggested Little Miracles and we very quickly realised that there could have been no better choice. We decided to partner with them because of the meaningful impact they have locally on so many families. We wanted to ensure that we could help them to continue this essential work, while engaging our team in a cause that truly matters.”
Jo Williams, HR Manager
Little Miracles relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and corporate support like this helps to ensure we can carry on our services. With Crown’s generosity, we are able to secure more support for our new and existing families who have nowhere else to turn. It also means we will be able to see more people with shorter waiting times.
Crown have also previously completed some volunteering in our garden area and we were thrilled to learn that the staff would like to come back and donate more of their time!
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone at Crown Packaging for helping us to continue to provide family support and we look forward to working closely with you in the future.
