Hello, I'm Mick, and I have had the privilege of being a part of the Little Miracles family for three years, working as the Head of Families.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is witnessing the genuine joy, laughter, and sense of accomplishment radiating from our families and young people. Their smiles and the happiness they experience in reaching their goals truly make my job fulfilling.

My journey with Little Miracles began with a simple yet profound purpose: to support young people with disabilities in accessing workshops and activities. I started by volunteering at local youth clubs, dedicating my time to ensuring that these individuals had the opportunity to participate and enjoy enriching experiences. It is this desire to make a positive impact on their lives that led me to become a part of the incredible Little Miracles team.

Emerson has been a trustee with Little Miracles for for more than 7 years.

Here is what Emerson has to say about supporting Little Miracles:

"I met Michelle at one of my business planning events.

I offered to give her a free session afterwards as a charity. When I saw the great work that she was doing with the team at Little Miracles how could I not want to get involved. She asked me if I’d like to be a trustee and I jumped at the chance. I would like to bring my business advice skills to the charity to make sure that we are working the best we can and hoping to raise funding for the children in the best ways that we can.

I’m passionate about supporting the children and have not only been a trustee but dressed up as Santa and delivered presents to hundreds of children in the lockdown, rode a bike for charity around the Isle of Wight one of the hottest days of the year in 2022. During the lockdown I came up with the home haircut challenge of which we managed to raised another £3500.

The work Little Miracles stuff is so important for the families of the children as well as the children themselves and I need to feel that in this world we’re not only there to support ourselves but also our community around us and that’s why I’m also a trustee for Little Miracles."

  • Meet Sam

Hi! I'm Sam, and I've had the privilege of serving as a Youth Worker at Little Miracles in Peterborough since May 2022.

What truly ignites my passion for being a youth worker are the diverse range of activities I get to participate in, the projects I oversee, the remarkable individuals I meet, and the countless memorable experiences I have at the centre. It's an incredibly fulfilling role.

My inspiration to become a youth worker stems from my grandmother, who had a background in working with young people. Witnessing her dedication and impact motivated me to explore this path. When I arrived for my interview at Little Miracles, I was greeted warmly by everyone at the centre. The vibrant and enjoyable nature of the childcare team instantly caught my attention, and I knew it was the right place for me. Since then, I have formed countless cherished memories while providing assistance to the wonderful families and children who visit Little Miracles.

Hello there! I'm Sasha, and I've been a Child Practitioner at Little Miracles for the past 7 months.

One of the aspects I truly cherish about my role is being able to provide parents with a much-needed break from the demands of everyday life. By ensuring their child is well taken care of at the centre, parents can have a moment to themselves, enjoy a warm cup of coffee, and recharge.

The reason I joined Little Miracles was to extend support and assistance to families with children facing disabilities or other medical challenges. I aim to help them navigate through any obstacles they may encounter. Above all, I strive to create an environment where families feel embraced and understand that they are not alone in their journey. It's a privilege to make a positive difference in their lives and foster a sense of belonging for all who walk through our doors.

  • Meet Louise

Hello! I'm Louise, and I head-up the fundraising team at Little Miracles.

My background is in health and social care with children, and fundraising at the NSPCC and ChildLine, so when this role came-up it was like all my dream jobs rolled into one!

The thing that I enjoy most about working at Little Miracles is that it is a unique environment where it is impossible to forget the importance of what we do. We are surrounded by the children we are helping and their families, so many of whom are happy to get involved by telling their stories or speaking to supporters about how Little Miracles has been a lifeline to them. This was new to me coming from much bigger charities, at Little Miracles you never feel distanced from the cause and donors are always delighted to be able to meet the people they are helping.

Everyone here, from the staff and volunteers to all the people we support, really are one big, happy family who will help and care for each other no matter what. It is the best decision I ever made!

Hello there! I'm Jo, currently working as the Branch Lead for Fenland at Little Miracles. Before this role, I dedicated three years as a Youth Worker at the Wisbech Branch.

My journey with Little Miracles began after working as a youth worker at a youth club for the Papworth Trust back in 2013. During that time, I had the privilege of working with young individuals with special needs, an experience that I wholeheartedly cherished.

In September 2019, I took the leap and applied to join Little Miracles, and I consider myself fortunate to have been hired.

Working at Little Miracles brings me immense joy and satisfaction. I particularly relish organising trips for our young adults, as it allows them to create wonderful memories. Additionally, meeting new families who join our activities and being able to provide support to both the families and children with additional needs is an incredibly rewarding aspect of my job. Being able to make a positive impact on their lives is truly fulfilling.

Hello, I'm Jack, and I proudly serve as the Trusts and Foundations Manager at Little Miracles.

My journey with Little Miracles began through a business apprenticeship, right after the DIY SOS team constructed a remarkable state-of-the-art play centre.

What brings me the greatest joy is witnessing the tangible benefits that parents and children experience through their involvement with Little Miracles. As a fundraiser and grant writer, it is immensely gratifying to see the funds I raise directly contribute to the well-being of these families, some of whom I have known for years. Knowing that I played a part in making these opportunities possible fills me with a sense of fulfilment.

In addition to the rewarding aspects of my role, I've had the opportunity to partake in exciting endeavours such as the Three Peaks challenge, the London Marathon, and even a Skydive. I've also had the privilege of being featured on TV and radio, and I've had the pleasure of meeting remarkable individuals who share the same passion for our cause. It's truly an enriching experience to be surrounded by such passionate and dedicated people.

Hello! I'm Jill, and I have dedicated over 8 years as a volunteer emergency supply coordinator. Additionally, I have been working for Little Miracles for the past 14 months as the South Kesteven Branch Lead and Family Support Worker.

One of the greatest joys in my role is working with and assisting our families, making a positive impact, and helping them navigate through challenging situations. Being able to support and guide them during difficult times is incredibly rewarding.

Another aspect I absolutely adore is organising outings for the families that they may not have had the opportunity to participate in otherwise. It brings me immense satisfaction to create memorable experiences and see the joy it brings to both the children and their families.

My journey with Little Miracles began when I made the decision to home-educate my boys nine years ago. I attended a parent-led group at Little Miracles and initially started by assisting with cleaning the facility and leading sessions. Since then, I have been fully committed to this incredible organisation, and I haven't looked back. The sense of fulfilment and purpose I find in working with Little Miracles has been truly life-changing.
