  • BSH Recycling reveal novel fundraising initiative for Little Miracles!

    Published 19/12/23, by Admin

BSH Recycling have partnered with renowned local street artist Nathan ‘Nyces’ Murdoch to elevate the simple skip, turning them into important pieces of community art.

The ‘Skip Art with Community Heart’ initiative will not only be highlighting impactful messages that resonate with local people, but the skip shaped canvases will also actively support local charities and sports & community groups.  This support will include donations from BSH Recycling themselves, through to raising the profile of an incredible range of community enterprises.

Whilst Christmas can be a magical time for some people, it can also be one of the most challenging times of the year for others. Nathan has created two masterpieces that showcase the valuable work and important seasonal messages.

Chris Seggie, Managing Director of BSH Recycling says of the project “The local communities in Bourne and Peterborough have supported us throughout our business journey and we’re very passionate about giving back in any way that we can.  Our skips make the ideal canvas for our community artwork campaign in partnership with Nathan’Nyces’ Murdoch.  As a local artist, Nathan was the natural choice, sharing our commitment to serving the local community and building a positive future for the next generation.”

Sophia Wakeman from Little Miracles says of the project, "We are really appreciative of BSH Recycling putting the Little Miracles message on a skip. I went down to witness Nathan from Street Art Hire design and spray paint it; it was rather incredible to watch him in action. It was amazing to meet the BSH Recycling team and learn more about their commitment to the community”

  • We won the CCVS Photo Competition!

    Published 27/11/23, by Admin

We are very happy to announce that we are the Cambridshire Council for Voluntary Service's 2023 photo competition Judge's Choice winners.

The story behind the photo is that too many families in the UK live every day with feelings of isolation, exclusion, judgement, stress and anxiety because the world around us is not set-up to help our children live life to their full potential.

Children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions need a place to play, laugh and create friendships. At Little Miracles we provide this environment for children whilst their families access the advice, support and care they deserve.

In this photo, our centre manager, Nikita, and a youth worker, Sam, are seen playing with R who uses Little Miracles outside of school.

A massive thank you to photographer Nate Lansdell of Smile a Day Photography who captured the image titled "We Are Little Miracles."

  • Our newest fundraiser, Sophia, tells us about organising her first mass participation event

    Published 30/08/23, by Admin

Sophia joined the Little Miracles fundraising team in January 2022. She had never organised an event before but she rose to the challenge and helped our incredible supporters raise more than £5,000 for families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

Here, Sophia gives us the inside scoop on her journey through organising her very first mass participation event, The Big Little Miracles Parachute Jump.

"As a newcomer to the world of fundraising and planner behind our parachute jump event, I'll confess that I felt a bit daunted initially. Nonetheless, there's an exhilarating sense of adventure in the prospect of not only learning the ropes but also crafting something special to support children with additional needs, disabilities, and life-limiting conditions.

The individuals who eagerly signed up for the parachute jump were motivated by a genuine desire to make a difference for disabled children or held a personal connection to our cause. It was genuinely heartwarming to discover that quite a few of them had been directly impacted by the challenges faced by siblings or children with disabilities.

Our dedicated fundraisers achieved a remarkable goal, raising an impressive sum of over £5,000. This contribution has the potential to create a substantial impact, ensuring that our childcare team can provide unwavering support throughout the autumn term. Their efforts offer a safe space for children who might struggle to find acceptance elsewhere.

The impact of these combined efforts is undeniably remarkable. In addition to their contributions, our jumpers demonstrated exceptional dedication by actively engaging in radio interviews and spreading the word of who Little Miracles are.

As we approached the end of our planning and marketing efforts, and our daring parachutists fell from the skies, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed by a profound sense of pride. It's crucial to emphasise that this achievement wasn't a solo act; it was a product of the dedication of these incredible fundraisers. Nonetheless, the experience of putting this event together and seeing the remarkable impact it had is a memory I'll never forget"
