Meet Lottie

Hiya! I’m Lottie, I’m 21 and from Peterborough. After finishing my A Levels, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, so naturally decided to bury my head in the sand and go full time at my job at a shoe shop (I know, brilliant idea). After my time there had come to an end, I decided to go into customer service and worked in a call centre handling home insurance (again, brilliant idea).

As much as I enjoyed the job, I really didn’t find it fulfilling enough as I always knew I wanted a career doing something that would help and benefit others, I just had no idea what yet. So, in September 2019 I started a degree in Psychology with the Open University. I’ve just passed my first year (admittedly with the help from my mum) and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made so far. When I started the course, I had a plan to become a children’s counsellor, which I would still like to explore further once I’ve finished my degree. Working within a charity has always been something I’ve been really interested in, my mum and step mum have both worked for charities and together have said that they’re the best jobs they’ve ever had.

This really stuck with me when I was starting to think of career paths I could take after uni, and after a lot of “oh my god what am I going to do with my life” conversations with both of my mums, I really had my heart set on getting a job within a charity. I’m so excited and grateful to have started my role as Digital Marketing apprentice at Little Miracles, and I can’t wait to see where this takes me in the future :).
